Dr. Simon Fox
Head of Criminology at Solent University
Simon is a senior lecturer in criminology and leader for the MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice.
A former police officer, Simon has an MA in criminal justice from Southampton University and a PhD on policing accountability, human rights and rational - legal bureaucratic models of cooperation. Having written numerous research and conference papers Simon has given keynote speeches all around the world and advises in organisations in the United Kingdom and USA.
During 2020 Solent University’s Criminology department led by Dr. Simon Fox and in collaboration with Hampshire Constabulary and MAPPA will be using an open-source data platform Amplus, to collect and analyze criminal data with the aim of making the data collected more valuable to the organisations involved, promoting a positive social outcome. Dr. Simon Fox will present the findings of his research trial and how data can be used to improve society, in a keynote speech at the Conference.
